Rahul Tongia

Rahul Tongia (IEEE Member) is principal research scientist at the Center for Study of Science, Technology, and Policy (CSTEP), a Bangalore-based not-for-profit research center. He is also a senior systems scientist (on leave) at Carnegie Mellon University. He works closely with Indian utilities and the Indian government on smart grid issues. He previously served on the Technology Advisory Board of Southern California Edison's smart grid program. He has a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from Brown University and a Ph.D. in engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon.
