Ralph D. Masiello
Ralph D. Masiello, an IEEE fellow, is Innovation Director and Senior Vice President at KEMA in Chalfont, Pa. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked on the very early applications of modern control and estimation theory to power systems. His personal focus in recent years has been the application of smart grid and electricity storage technologies to system operations and the integration of distributed resources into markets and operations. Masiello serves on the U.S. Department of Energy’s energy advisory committee and chairs its storage subcommittee. He is the recipient of the 2009 IEEE Power Engineering Concordia award for Power System Engineering and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
