Jim Green is Assistant Director of Energy Management at the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities Campus. He is responsible for energy efficiency, facilities engineering and building automation. He completed a 27-year naval career in 2008, when he retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of captain. As a Navy Engineering Duty Officer, Green served in various roles at ship building and ship repair facilities, led and managed the operation of aircraft carrier propulsion plants and commanded a ship repair facility. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota and his master’s in mechanical engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
