Amro M. Farid

Amro M. FaridAmro M. Farid, an IEEE member, is an assistant professor of engineering systems and management at the Masdar Institute, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he leads the Laboratory for Intelligent Integrated Networks of Engineering Systems. The laboratory maintains an active research program in smart power grids, the energy-water nexus, the energy-transportation nexus and reconfigurable manufacturing systems. He has made smart grid contributions to the MIT-Masdar Institute Collaborative Initiative, MIT's Future of the Electricity Grid study and the IEEE-CSS Smart Grid Vision. He received his Sc.B and Sc. M. in mechanical engineering from MIT in 2000 and 2002 and his Ph.D. in industrial control systems engineering from the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Manufacturing in 2007.
