Marita Mirzatuny is a member of the smart power team of the Environmental Defense Fund’s U.S. Climate & Energy Program. She works on smart grid development, renewables, demand response and policy involving the Public Utilities Commission (PUC), the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and the Texas Legislature. She has helped design the environmental metrics for the Pecan Street project, in which EDF is a partner. Prior to joining EDF, she interned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and worked for various environmental non-profits in California and Texas. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in environmental studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an M.B.A. at Texas State University, in San Marcos.
