IEEE Launches New Smart Grid Experts Video Series
PISCATAWAY,
N.J., USA, 8 June, 2011 – IEEE, the world's largest professional
association advancing technology for humanity, today launched a new
video series featuring interviews with IEEE experts from around the
world discussing the latest smart grid trends and issues.
Visitors to the IEEE Smart Grid Web Portal (http://smartgrid.ieee.org/) will gain
access to insightful viewpoints by leaders from industry, government and
academia who are directly involved in the development and
implementation of smart grid globally.
The new IEEE Smart Grid
Expert Spotlight video series provides comprehensive discussions with an
international perspective on a broad range of smart grid topics,
including business and technical considerations.
The series
includes in-depth conversations with a vast range of international
experts including project leaders from the European Commission, active
ICT (information and communications technology) and power engineers, top
industry executives, government leaders, and globally recognized
university professors who specialize in smart grid.
As part of
the ongoing video interview series, this new IEEE Smart Grid Expert
Spotlight kicks-off with a conversation with Chuck Adams, 2009-2010
President of the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA). Interviewed
during the IEEE Smart Grid World Forum in Brussels, Belgium, Mr. Adams
provides insight on standards and their relevance to smart grid. Also
featured are excerpts from presentations given by Jim Prendergast, IEEE
Executive Director, exploring global and regional smart grid
developments, and Ralf Christian, CEO of Siemens Energy Sector's Power
Distribution, discussing consumer consumption renewables and the reality
of smart grid.
A new video interview will be posted each week
for visitors to the IEEE Smart Grid Web Portal to access anytime from
any location.
