IEEE GreenCom 2012

The 2nd IEEE Online Conference on Green Communications (GreenCom), held September 26 – 28, 2012, is a fully-virtual event where leading international experts in energy-efficient communications and green technologies will highlight the latest networking, energy management, smart grid and green communications solutions specifically-designed to reduce energy consumption and global greenhouse gas emissions. The conference will include keynote and invited talks from numerous leading international experts such as Professor Jean-Yves Le Boudec of the Computer Communications and Applications Laboratory 2 at EPFL, who will talk about “Stochastic Analysis of Real and Virtual Energy Storage in the Smart Grid;” Professor Zhisheng Niu of the Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University, who will discuss the “Characterizing Energy-Delay Tradeoff in GREEN Communications;” and Professor Ken Christensen, Director of Undergraduate Program Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of South Florida, who will address “Green Networks: Substituting, Scheduling, and Consolidating to Save Energy.” Dietrich Zeller of Alcatel-Lucent Deutschland AG, Bell Labs Germany and the Coordinator of FP7 EARTH will also speak about “Green Wireless Access – where we are, where we need to go.” Throughout the seven online sessions, speakers representing Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Huawei, Orange Labs, Telecom, Delft University of Technology, Ghent University, Politecnico di Milano, South China University of Technology and the University of Massachusetts will address subjects ranging from communications methodologies and networking architectures to energy management and green solution protocols.
