Smart Grid is the current technology adaptation that combines Communication, Network and Power System components with the target to ensure a Resilient, Robust and Secure Power System Network. This presentation will focus more on Smart Grid Technologies implementation and its issues from the Malaysian perspective.

This webinar will also cover the way forward from Malaysian researchers and research institution into Smart Grid. It is hoped that by the end of this presentation, audience will have an appreciation on Smart Grid, Roll-Out issues and how this will impact the utility and its customers.

YIzham Zainal Abidin

About the Speaker:

Izham Zainal Abidin received his BEng in Electrical Engineering from University of Southampton in 1997 and PhD in Electrical Engineering (Power) from University of Strathclyde in 2002. He is very active in research and has published a significant number publication in both renowned journals and conferences. His current research interest includes Power System Studies, Self-Healing Systems, Smart Grid, and Voltage Stability Studies. His research expertise established over the years have also resulted him being invited to provide many consultancy works. Assoc. Prof. Dr Izham is also very actively involved in professional societies both at international and national levels. He is the Past Chair of IEEE PES Malaysia Chapter as well as a Graduate Member for Board of Engineers Malaysia.
